Zion Tupuola-Fetui Named Pac-12 Defensive Lineman Of The Week

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 today announced its 2020 football season’s second weekly honors, presented by Nextiva.

DEFENSIVE LINE: Zion Tupuola-Fetui, So., OLB (DE), Washington (Pearl City, Hawai’i)

  • In his first career start for Washington, Tupuola-Fetui came away with a strong performance, highlighted by a pair of strip-sacks.
  • His first came in the first quarter, with Washington ahead 10-7 when he knocked the ball loose from Oregon State’s quarterback. The Huskies recovered and scored a few plays later to make it 17-7.
  • Later in the second quarter, Tupuola-Fetui notched another strip-sack on 3rd & 7 (Oregon State recovered). 
  • Overall on the night, he had four total tackles, two for loss, and two forced fumbles, as Washington’s defense held Oregon State scoreless in the second half.

Also nominated: Terrence Lang, DE, Colorado; Osa Odighizuwa, DL, UCLA; Marlon Tuipulotu, DL, USC.
