“The 25 Days Of Husky Christmas” – 9 Days ‘Til

Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its second season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

The number 9 represents the jersey number of Husky Legend Myles Gaskin, who had a tremendous career for the Washington Huskies.

His special talent was noticed since the minute he stepped onto Montlake, as he earned the starting job at running back as a true freshman.

Gaskin became the first true freshman in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards, finishing with 1,302 on 227 carries.

During the 2018 season, Gaskin broke Husky Legend Napoleon Kaufman‘s record as the all-time leading rusher at the University of Washington.  Kaufman had previously held the record since 1994.

Gaskin ran for over 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons. He’s the first Pac-12 player to ever to it, while finishing his college career with 5,323 rushing yards.

Statistically, Gaskin is known as the finest running back to ever play for the Huskies, as he was a stalwart in the backfield for the Husky offense.
