“The 25 Days Of Husky Christmas” – 4 Days ‘Til

Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its third consecutive season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments in Husky Athletics history. Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection are at the forefront of our minds.  This year’s version will feature 25 random and exciting moments, in no particular order or ranking of importance.

4 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

The 2013 Washington Huskies Football team engineered a dominating 38-6 victory over Chris Petersen and the #19 Boise State Broncos.

What made the game memorable was the fact that it was the very first game in the newly renovated Husky Stadium, and the Huskies ushered it in with an upset victory. “Once we got rolling, we were unstoppable,” Washington wide receiver Jaydon Mickens said.

Petersen and the Broncos (ranked #20), had just beaten the Huskies 28-26 the season before at the 2012 Maaco Bowl Las Vegas.  This game was a rematch and the Huskies didn’t want to start the new stadium off with a loss.

Senior quarterback Keith Price looked outstanding in throwing for 324 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, while breaking the UW career record for touchdowns passes.

Washington handed Boise State its worst loss in eight seasons under head coach Chris Petersen. Petersen’s worst loss before the game would be the Broncos’ 24-10 loss to the Huskies at Husky Stadium in 2007.

Boise State’s six points were its fewest since getting shut out by Washington State 58-0 in 1997.  “They dominated us in all phases,” Petersen said of the Huskies.
