Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its third consecutive season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments in Husky Athletics history. Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection are at the forefront of our minds. This year’s version will feature 25 random and exciting moments, in no particular order or ranking of importance.

21 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

A program defining moment of the Chris Petersen era came for the 2016 Washington Huskies when they faced off against the #7 Stanford Cardinal at Husky Stadium.

During a Friday night game, that was nationally televised on ESPN, the Huskies showed the entire nation that they were the new “bully” in the Pac-12 North.

In front of a sold-out crowd, Washington dominated the game from start to finish on both sides of the ball, while earning a dominating 44-6 rout.

This game was a tipping point in the season and the Huskies eventually won the Pac-12 Championship, earning a berth into the College Football Playoff. The Husky faithful stormed the field after the game.

“That truly was the greatest setting in college football,” UW coach Chris Petersen said following the game. “That was fun for our guys, our coaches, and I hope our fans enjoyed that, too, because that was special.”
