Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its second season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

15 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

The number 15 represents the number of Rose Bowl game appearances for the Washington Huskies Football program throughout its history.

Back in 1923, the Huskies played the Navy Midshipmen in their first Rose Bowl appearance in school history.  The game resulted in a 14-14 tie.

Their most recent victory in the Rose Bowl game came in 2000, when they defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 34-24 and finished 11-1 on the season.

Last season, Washington competed in their first Rose Bowl appearance for the first time since 2000.  They lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes 28-23.

Out of the 15 Rose Bowl appearances, the Huskies have an overall record of 7-7-1 at Rose Bowl Stadium down in Pasadena, California.
