Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its second season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

14 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

The number 14 represents the number of points that the Washington Huskies Football team scored with 3:00 minutes left in the 1975 Apple Cup.

Washington State attempted a 4th-and-1 conversion at the UW 14-yard line, rather than try for a field goal and put the game out of reach.

On the 4th down attempt, the Cougars pass was intercepted by Al Burleson of the Huskies and returned 93 yards for a touchdown.

During the next drive for Washington State, they went three-and-out, which set the stage for one of the most memorable comebacks in Husky history.

Washington quarterback Warren Moon‘s tipped pass was caught by Spider Gaines for a 78-yard touchdown reception and sealed a dramatic 28–27 win for Washington.
