“The 25 Days Of Husky Christmas” – 13 Days ‘Til

Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its second season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

The number 13 represents the number of points that the Washington Huskies Football team held the Washington State Cougars to in the 2019 Apple Cup.

After trailing 7-0 early, the Husky defense completely dominated the Cougars “Air Raid” offense, en route to a 31-13 victory over their cross-state rival.

What is significant about the win is this was Washington head coach Chris Petersen‘s final Apple Cup game and also his last game at Husky Stadium.

Three days after winning the Apple Cup, Petersen announced he was stepping down as head coach to “get rested, recharged and get redirected.”

Petersen finished his Apple Cup career with a perfect 6-0 record, while “owning” Washington State head coach Mike Leach along the way.
