DubLife.net is doing a Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

11 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

The number 11 signifies the amount of times that former Washington Huskies Football coach Don James finished ranked in the top 20 in national rankings.

During his time at Washington, James won various ‘coach of the year’ honors with the first one back in 1977 and the last one achieved in 1991.

James coached the Huskies from a span of 1975-1992, and during that time he turned them into a winning machine and a national power.

He won the Rose Bowl in 1978, 1982, 1991 and 1992 while also finishing with six conference titles along the way while at the helm for the Huskies.
