Counting down “The 25 Days of Husky Christmas”…..

“DubLife” is doing its second season of the annual Holiday countdown to Christmas highlighting special moments and statistics in Husky Athletics history.  Our segment is meant to bring positive thoughts of our favorite university during a time of the year where thanks and reflection is at the forefront of our minds.

 

1 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS

The number 1 represents the number of College Football Playoff appearances the Washington Huskies Football program has made.

In just his third season as head coach, Chris Petersen guided the Huskies to their first ever College Football Playoff selection.

During the 2016-2017 season, the #4 Huskies finished the regular season 11-1 and then won the Pac-12 Championship 41-10 against #9 Colorado.

With a 12-1 record and a dominating win over a top ten team, the Huskies were selected as the #4 seed in the College Football Playoff.

In their College Football Playoff semifinal, Washington would fall 24-7 in the Peach Bowl, against the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

It was a remarkable feat for the Huskies to gain their first playoff selection in just year three under Petersen’s watch.
