Washington finished the 2022 season with an 11-2 record, marking just the 5th time in school history that the Huskies have reached 11 wins. Kalen DeBoer is the first UW head coach to win a bowl game in his first season. Never before had UW won more than 8 games under a first-year head coach.

Kalen DeBoer Named Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week
Earlier this season, DeBoer was named The Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week when Washington took down then No. 11 Michigan State 39-28 for their first win over a ranked Power Five nonconference opponent at home since 2001.
