This was just what the doctor ordered for the Washington Huskies. A complete beatdown of an inferior opponent in all three phases of the game.
Any way you slice it, the Huskies are now 0-2 on the season, and at the worst, they should be 1-1 right now. Playing at "The Big House" can be a tough experience for opposing teams. Once again, it just seemed like the team waited too long to get anything going, instead of chipping away at the score methodically throughout the game.
UW and Michigan have played one another 12 times, with the Huskies winning five of those games. Four of those 12 meetings were have come in the Rose Bowl game, with the two teams splitting those four games.
There is no beating around the bush here! This was a monumental clunker for the Huskies and completely unexplainable! It will be hard for head coach Jimmy Lake to keep the fans on board after this defeat and time will tell if the Huskies can recover and rebuild from this.
Washington is 17-1-1 all-time against Montana. The Huskies and Grizzlies had gone more than a half century without playing one another before they met on week two of the 2017 season.
