Isaiah Stewart Picks Up His Third Pac-12 Freshman of the Week Honor

Per the University of Washington Press Release…..

SAN FRANCISCO – University of Washington freshman Isaiah Stewart picked up his third Pac-12 honor of the season as he was named the league’s Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Stewart was already recognized earlier this season as the Freshman of the Week on Dec. 9 and Dec. 23. He’s the only UW freshman to earn multiple conference weekly honors in a season since the league started naming player of the week in 1984.
Stewart averaged a double-double in two games on the week for the Dawgs, going for 25.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. He shot 61.8 percent from the field (21-of-34) in an average of 31.5 minutes.

The Rochester, N.Y. native opened the week with his third 20-point game in four outings as he scored 26 to lead UW in a win over Hawaii. He added 13 rebounds for his fourth-straight double-double and was 13 of -21 from the field. He followed that with 25 points and eight rebounds against Houston on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.

Stewart has hit 20 or more points in five games this season and has yet to score less than 10 points in a game during UW’s 10-3 non-conference start.
Washington is back in Seattle this week opening Pac-12 play against UCLA, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. They then host USC on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m.
