SEATTLE – University of Washington men’s basketball freshmen Isaiah Stewart and Jaden McDaniels have been named to the 2019-20 John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List presented by Wendy’s, the organization announced on Tuesday. The two McDonald’s All-Americans are two of 10 freshman on the list and two of eight selections from the Pac-12.
Stewart, a five-star recruit out of Rochester, N.Y., has been picking up numerous preseason accolades already since he arrived on campus alongside the Wooden Award recognition. The 2019 McDonald’s All-American has been named to the following lists: Citizen Naismith Player of the Year, Naismith Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year watch list, NABC Division I Player of the Year along with earning Preseason First Team All-Pac-12 honors.
McDaniels has also earned his share of preseason recognition as he is on the Naismith Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year watch list along with being named to the Wooden Award Watch list. The 6-9 newcomer out of Seattle comes to Montlake as a McDonald’s All-American, a Jordan Brand Classic selection and a Second-Team Naismith High School All-American.
