The Washington Huskies held their sixth Spring Camp practice this morning and Day Six is officially in the books.
ELEMENTS
– The team practiced inside Husky Stadium and it was the third practice open to the public.
– The weather was sunny and just an absolute picturesque day at the greatest setting in college football.
– The length of the practice was approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS
– The team practiced with pads today, while wearing shorts and focused a lot on scrimmaging, alignment, fundamentals, footwork, and drills.
– Today’s practice was a good mix of scrimmages with referees, special teams work, and a ton of reps for all position groups.
– Today’s 11 on 11 sessions allowed the quarterback’s opportunities to drive the team down the field and take command of the offense.
– Drill work included Tackling, Pillars, Linemen footwork, WR routes, QB footwork and Handoffs, DB footwork, QB passing, DB technique, Barrels, Linemen technique, RB handoffs, Slants, Receiver deep ball routes, get off, FG kicking and Special Teams work, and Coverages.
– The QB group worked on progressions, footwork, rollouts, sideline throws, and slant throws. Dylan Morris was accurate in throwing intermediate passes on crossing routes. Sam Huard’s ability to throw the touch pass is very evident. Patrick O’Brien had some good zip and threw with authority on his throws. Camden Sirmon made good decisions by throwing the ball away when nothing was there. Jesse Martineau looked a lot quicker with his release. Overall this group seems to have more command of the offense each day with each QB exhibiting a different asset they bring to the table.
– During the 11 on 11 sessions the First Team Offense consisted primarily of Dylan Morris, Cameron Davis, Rome Odunze, Jalen McMillan, Terrell Bynum, Cade Otton, Jaxson Kirkland, Ulumoo Ale, Luke Wattenberg, Henry Bainivalu, Victor Curne.
