The Washington Huskies held their thirteenth Fall Camp practice this morning and Day Thirteen is officially in the books.
ELEMENTS
– The team started out practice inside Husky Stadium and remained there the entire time.
– The weather was overcast, cloudy, with a nice breeze from time to time.
– The length of the practice was approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS
– The team practiced with pads today while wearing shorts, helmets, and jerseys and focused a lot on walkthrough, fundamentals, footwork, and drills for most of the practice. There was no hitting today.
– Today’s practice started out with both the offense and defense being in separate groups divided into two halves of the field. It was sort of a walkthrough for tomorrow’s fan fest scrimmage.
– Today’s 11-on-11 sessions consisted of some reps for both the offense and the defense, intermingled throughout the entire practice.
– Drill work included, rings, DB backpedals, Linemen footwork, WR routes, QB footwork and handoffs, DB footwork, QB passing, DB comebacks, handoffs, Barrels, Lineman technique, LB sleds, Punt formations, Kickoff coverage, FG kicking and special teams work.
– The QB group worked on option pitches to the RB’s and sideline throws down the field. Dylan Morris threw great to the backside of his receivers on sideline throws. Sam Huard showed great touch on his fade routes. Patrick O’Brien did not participate in drills. Camden Sirmon looked good on his rollout throws. Jesse Martineau (not enough reps to evaluate). QB Tyson Lang (not enough reps to evaluate). Overall this group worked on getting reps, fundamentals and accuracy.
– During the 11 on 11 session the First Team Offense consisted primarily of Dylan Morris, Cameron Davis, Rome Odunze, Taj Davis, Terrell Bynum, Cade Otton, Jaxson Kirkland, Ulumoo Ale, Luke Wattenberg, Henry Bainivalu, Victor Curne. Kamari Pleasant, Sean McGrew and Julius Buelow rotated in with this group as well.
– During the 11 on 11 session the First Team Defense consisted primarily of Tuli Letuligasenoa, Sam Taimani, Jacob Bandes, Ryan Bowman, Edefuan Ulofoshio, Jackson Sirmon, Trent McDuffie, Kyler Gordon, Kamren Fabiculanan, Cameron Williams, Cooper McDonald. Bralen Trice, Sav’ell Smalls, Cameron Williams, Julius Irvin, and Mishael Powell rotated in with this group as well.
– After some initial walkthroughs, each individual position group worked on drills.
– QB’s worked on their option pitches to the RB’s.
– Kickoff returns and punt return coverage were practiced during drills.
– DB Asa Turner returned to practice and took reps with the second unit.
– WR Sawyer Racanelli returned to practice today.
– WR Giles Jackson & DB Trent McDuffie took reps as punt returners.
– P Race Porter had a nice punt to the sidelines at the 3-yard line.
– P Triston Brown had nice hang time on his punts.
– RB Cameron Davis took snaps as a kickoff returner today.

– WR Rome Odunze made some big catches during 11-on-11 to extend drives and move the chains.
PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR
– ILB Cooper McDonald was constantly getting into the backfield and creating pressure and got a sack as well.

– DB Brendan Radley-Hiles sack on QB Camden Sirmon during 11-on-11.
