Huskies Non-Conference Schedule Has Been Released

SEATTLE – The Huskies have released their 2019-20 non-conference slate, head coach Mike Hopkins announced on Thursday. The Dawgs once again will travel quite a bit in the non-conference, over 12,000 miles, but will take on four teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago in Baylor, Tennessee, Montana and Gonzaga. Game times and the remaining TV selections will be announced at a later date.
 
Washington hosts an exhibition on Thursday, Oct. 31 against Western Washington then officially opens the season facing Baylor in the Armed Forces Classic held at Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday, Nov. 8 in a partnership with the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson military facility. The game will be televised by ESPN.
 
The Dawgs will host Mount Saint Mary’s in its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 12 before returning to the road to face Tennessee at the Naismith Hall of Fame Classic in Toronto on Nov. 16 at Scotiabank Arena, home of the reigning NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors. It will be the second-straight year that the Huskies have played in Canada after competing in the Vancouver Showcase a year ago.
 
The purple and gold return for seven-straight home games giving fans a great chance to see the 2019-20 team. First up is Maine on Nov. 19, followed by Montana on Friday, Nov. 22. The Grizzlies made the NCAA tournament a year ago. Next up is San Diego on Sunday, Nov. 24.
 
South Dakota next visits Alaska Airlines Arena on Monday, Dec. 2 followed by Eastern Washington on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
 
On Sunday, Dec. 8, in-state rival Gonzaga comes to Hec Ed as part of the programs’ yearly contract. Washington then faces Seattle on Dec. 17 prior to heading to the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu. The Huskies open against Ball State on Dec. 22 (ESPN2) with following games on Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 to close out the non-conference season.
