It was announced yesterday that freshman forward Nate Roberts will redshirt this season for the Washington Huskies.

Roberts played his high school ball at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.  He was considering schools like Connecticut, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Nebraska before deciding on the Huskies.

He was expected to provide some offensive scoring for how big his frame is at 6 feet 10 inches and 240 pounds.  The great thing is that he has a good handle and can shoot the basketball.

With a 7-6 wingspan, he was expected to add some size and length to the frontline of head coach Mike Hopkins 2-3 zone.

Recently, Roberts played in one minute of action against Seattle Pacific in an exhibition game that the Huskies won 70-61.
