The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff has been getting it done on the recruiting trail this past week as momentum is building.
Three-star defensive end recruit Maurice Heims announced his commitment to the University of Washington via his Twitter account.
Heims hails from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Santa Margarita, California, which is located a few hours away from Los Angeles. It is believed that he is the first German football player to make a commitment to Washington as he is originally from Hamburg, Germany.
At 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, Heims is a “raw prospect” that the Husky coaching staff is excited about with his fast-twitch athleticism and speed off the ball.
Heims is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, and just the type of player the Husky coaching staff loves to mold into their system.
He had offers from Penn State, Washington State, Arizona State, Colorado, Arizona, Boston College, Illinois, Oregon State, Washington and more.
Heims is the #9 verbal commitment for the Washington Huskies for the 2021 recruiting class and the first from outside of the United States.
