The University of Washington Men’s Basketball team received some great news in their recruiting efforts in an attempt to bolster their roster.
Local product Cole Bajema announced his decision via Twitter on Saturday night to join the Washington Huskies after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal a couple weeks ago.
Bajema is from nearby Lynden, Washington where he played his high school basketball at Lynden Christian High School.
He joined the Michigan Wolverines coming out of high school and during his freshman season he was used sparingly in the lineup.
Output wise, Bajema averaged 2.6 points and 0.4 rebounds per game. He is transferring to Washington to move closer to home.
At the small forward position, Bajema is listed at 6-foot-8 and is a multi-threat, with his ability to shoot and break down the defense off the dribble.
He is a former four-star recruit coming out of high school and Washington head coach Mike Hopkins is looking for versatile players.
Thus far, the Husky coaching staff has gone after skilled transfers who were looking for a great opportunity and the chance to return home.
Bajema joins recent commits Erik Stevenson and also junior college transfer Nate Pryor for the 2020 recruiting class at Washington.
