BREAKING: Three-Star Quarterback Jackson Stratton Commits To Washington

The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff was able to solidify its quarterback spot for the 2022 recruiting cycle, with the addition of another pro-style prospect.

Earlier this morning, quarterback prospect Jackson Stratton announced his commitment to the University of Washington via a message he posted on Twitter.

Stratton plays at La Jolla High School in La Jolla, California. He led his team to a 5-0 record while completing 68.9% of his passes during his junior season this past year. Stratton notched 1,269 yards passing, with 19 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, while rushing for over 150 yards and three touchdowns of his own.

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Stratton brings good size and a pocket-passer style to the position. 247Sports analyst Greg Biggins wrote this about Stratton last month:

“One player who made a move up our board was La Jolla (Calif.) quarterback Jackson Stratton. Stratton jumped from an 82 to an 85 Rating and we think he’ll continue to climb by the spring. At 6-4, 205 pounds, he has a very projectable frame, is smooth mechanically, and has a good natural feel for the position. He stood out at the National Preps Showcase in San Diego and his early-season highlights are very good as well. Stratton is accurate to all three levels of the field, gets the ball out quick and his decision-making has been on point as well. Nevada is his most recent offer, joining earlier offers from FIU, Brown, and Columbia and he’s a player we think could emerge on a lot of college boards this offseason.”

Stratton is ranked by 247Sports as a three-star recruit and the #34 overall pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation for the 2022 recruiting class.

He originally had offers from the two Ivy League schools including Brown and Columbia, with offers from Florida Atlantic and Nevada as well. Stratton was also receiving interest from UCLA, Arizona, Oregon State, and San Diego State.

The Huskies have made the NCAA transfer portal, a part of their recruiting formula this offseason, but recruiting players traditionally is still the basic foundation for building a successful and consistent program.
