SEATTLE – Sophomore transfer Quade Green has been ruled academically ineligible for the winter quarter and won’t be eligible for game competition starting immediately, head coach Mike Hopkins announced Thursday. He is able to practice with the Huskies during this time.
There will be no further comments from UW or Coach Hopkins at this time.
Green was recently on a productive stretch where he found the balance between running the offense, while finding ways to score the basketball.
He was averaging 11.6 points, 5.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game, while playing all 15 games this season for the Huskies.
Before the season started, Green was granted eligibility by the NCAA to play immediately after petitioning them in regards to his transfer from Kentucky.
The Huskies will now turn to backup sophomore point guard Elijah Hardy and sophomore guard Jamal Bey to run the offense.
