The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff received some great news with another addition from the Otton family legacy tree.
Earlier this afternoon, tight end prospect Ryan Otton announced his commitment to the University of Washington via a message he posted on Twitter.
Otton plays at local Tumwater High School in Tumwater, WA and he is the younger brother of current Husky All-America candidate tight end Cade Otton. The Husky coaching staff learned of Otton’s commitment during a visit to Montlake earlier today. At 6-foot-6, 230 pounds, Otton is an elite talent who is the complete package at tight end.
Back in March, 247Sports National Recruiting Director Brandon Huffman said of Otton:
“Otton may spend much of his time playing blocking in the Wing-T and the ground-based offense may not lead to big numbers for Otton but his size, hands and ability to run will be utilized in college, much like it is for his older brother, Cade. Otton is a plus blocker, who does a great job of sealing off his man and opening lanes for him to run. He can catch, he can run, and is a legitimate red zone threat with his size. Otton is all of 6-6, 230 and still looks on the thinner side, with an optimal frame for more weight.”
Otton is ranked by 247Sports as a four-star recruit and the #6 overall tight end prospect in the nation for the 2022 recruiting class. He is also the #3 overall rated prospect in the state of Washington.
Otton originally had offers from Nebraska, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Northwestern, Utah, Oregon State, Cal, Oregon, UCLA, West Virginia amongst others before choosing Washington.
With the commitment from Otton, Washington now has nine committed players for the 2022 recruiting class. Otton is the second tight end commit in this class for the Huskies along with Chance Bogan.
Washington commits Germie Bernard (WR), Chance Bogan (TE), Jackson Stratton (QB), Parker Brailsford (OL), Vega Ioane (OL), Ben Roberts, Emeka Megwa (RB), Lance Holtzclaw (OLB), and Ryan Otton (TE) are all headed to Montlake. Bernard, Roberts, Megwa, and Otton are all four-star commits in the fold for this recruiting class so far.
