BREAKING: Linebacker Ariel Ngata Announces His Decision To Transfer

With the Washington Huskies headed in a new direction this upcoming season, under new head coach Jimmy Lake, it doesn’t come without some attrition.

Junior linebacker Ariel Ngata announced his decision via twitter today, that he will officially enter the “Transfer Portal” effective immediately.

It was widely expected that Ngata would earn a starting spot this season and play an integral part in bolstering the linebackers group.

Originally from Folsom High School in Folsom, California, Ngata battled through injuries and constantly trying to ascend the depth chart.

He was ranked as a promising four-star prospect and the No. 17 outside linebacker in the 2017 class by 247Sports.

At 6-foot-3, 213 pounds, Ngata played mostly at outside linebacker before seeing some time at inside linebacker during this past season.

Ngata finished his Husky career with 22 total tackles, with two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
