BREAKING: Keith Taylor Drafted By The Panthers In The 5th Round

The Washington Huskies Football family received more great news when one of their defensive backs was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Former Husky defensive back Keith Taylor was selected as the #166th overall pick by the Carolina Panthers as the second Husky “DB” selected.

He was drafted at the #22 pick in the 5th round and the Carolina Panthers will be getting a lockdown cover guy who is rangy, tall, and athletic.

Taylor opted to play out his senior season at Washington after the pandemic hit and waited to declare for the NFL Draft.  He has been training hard and getting ready for this moment for several months.

During his college career, Taylor had career starts in 3 out of his 4 years with the Huskies and In his final season at UW, he won the UW’s coaches’ Husky Excellence Award at the team’s postseason awards banquet.  Taylor finished his college career at Washington with 91 total tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, and 10 pass deflections in 43 games played.  

Taylor is from Long Beach, California where he played his high school ball at Servite High School before joining the Washington Huskies.
