BREAKING: Huskies Will Face Ohio State In The Rose Bowl

The Washington Huskies clinched their berth into the Rose Bowl when they defeated the Utah Utes 10-3 over the weekend.

What wasn’t decided was who the Huskies opponent would be as the final College Football Playoff rankings hadn’t been released yet.

Earlier this morning, the College Football Playoff Committee announced the final rankings and Ohio State finished at #6.

The Huskies themselves finished at #9 which means the Rose Bowl matchup will feature two top 10 teams.

It will be the first time that Washington Huskies and the Ohio State Buckeyes will face each other in the Rose Bowl.

“Can’t say enough about our guys. They battled all year and ended up right where we hoped to be!  It’s a really awesome team in a big-time game that has so much history with this school and this program, and we’re thrilled to be going back.”  Washington head coach Chris Petersen said earlier today.

This will be a traditional pairing in the sense that the Pac-12 Champion and the Big Ten Champion will face off against each other.

Last year, the Rose Bowl game was selected as one of the College Football Playoff Semifinal games featuring Oklahoma and Georgia.

The 2019 Rose Bowl Game will be played on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.  Kickoff will commence at 2:00pm PST.
