The Washington Huskies Football team landed another talented defensive back commitment earlier today and their recruiting presence continues to be felt around the country.
In two consecutive days, over the course of this past weekend, the Husky defense has strengthened it’s secondary for the future.
Lawndale High School (Lawndale, California) defensive back Makell Esteen is another player that fits defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake‘s system.
The 6 foot 1 inch, 170-pound Esteen is ranked as the no. 33 safety prospect in the nation for 2020 by 247Sports and is a three-star recruit.

In the end, Esteen chose Washington over USC, Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona, Utah, Cal, Colorado and Oregon State.
Esteen is regarded as a very smart and cerebral player who possesses great ball skills and instincts. He is fast and has an ability to constantly swarm around the football and make plays.
One of the biggest assets to the Washington coaching staff is their ability to evaluate talent and get the guys that fit their system.
With Esteen’s commitment, the Huskies now have 18 total commitments for the 2020 recruiting class.
Esteen joins an already elite and talented recruiting haul for the Huskies and the future pipeline in the secondary is fully secure for coach Lake.
