BREAKING: Huskies Land Four-Star Wide Receiver Rome Odunze

The intense momentum the Husky Football coaches have been garnering on the recruiting trail just got even bigger this evening.

Bishop Gorman High School four-star wide receiver Rome Odunze committed to the Huskies earlier this evening, which is a humongous get for the coaching staff.

The 6 foot 2.5 inch Odunze hails out of Las Vegas, Nevada and is one of the top wide receiver prospects on the west coast.

During his junior season, Odunze hauled in 15 touchdowns while notching 1,347 yards.  He is expected to have an all-star senior season coming up this fall.

He is rated 50th in the nation as a wide receiver and the 2nd overall prospect in the state of Nevada.

247Sports has Odunze ranked as the No. 30 wide receiver nationally and the No. 174 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Washington was able to gain Odunze’s verbal commitment over schools such as Oklahoma, Oregon, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Utah and Notre Dame.

The biggest asset to Odunze’s talent profile is the fact that he is speedster.  During the Nevada track and field state finals, Odunze recorded a 10.67 time in the 100 meter dash.

First year wide receivers coach Junior Adams has made a gigantic impact on the recruiting trail since his arrival at Washington.

Odunze is just another prized recruit in the bread basket for coach Adams, as he also helped sign four-star Husky freshman Puka Nacua and also gained a recent commitment from Jalen McMillan, who is also a four-star recruit and the #3 wide receiver prospect in the nation.

This 2020 recruiting class for the Huskies is shaping up to be a monster for this coaching staff and there are certainly more elite commitments that will be added to the 16 committed already.
