BREAKING: Huskies Gain Commitments From High School Teammates Sir Mells & Anthony Jones

The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff gained some positive momentum on the recruiting trail, just one day after announcing its season was over.

Washington coaches tapped the state of Nevada and grabbed a couple of high school teammates from Liberty High School in the city of Henderson.

Three-star defensive lineman Sir Mells and tight end/outside linebacker Anthony Jones both committed earlier today for the 2022 recruiting class.

Mells also had scholarship offers from UNLV, San Jose State, and Fresno State. At 6-foot-4, 310-pounds, Mells is a three-star recruit, the #13 prospect in the state of Nevada, and the #50 ranked defensive tackle in his class by 247Sports.

Jones himself held one offer from UNLV.  At 6-4, 240-pounds, Jones is a three-star recruit, the #12 player in Nevada, and the #35 ranked tight end nationally by 247Sports.  It remains to be seen which side of the ball the coaches will use him at with tight end or defensive end as the two positions in play.

The Huskies currently have four players committed for the 2022 class and three of those players are from Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada.  Four-star wide receiver Germie Bernard committed back in July.
