BREAKING: Huskies Add Defensive End Transfer Jeremiah Martin

The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff received some great news on the defensive line front, with an addition that should give the defense an “edge”.

Earlier this morning, defensive transfer Jeremiah Martin announced his commitment to the University of Washington via a message he posted on Twitter.

Martin chose the Texas A&M Aggies back in 2018 and had developed a reputation as a “fast-twitch” edge rusher with tremendous athleticism.  The Huskies coaching staff is hoping to maximize Martin’s full potential and talent as a Husky.

At 6-foot-5, 262 pounds, Martin could develop into a freakish threat off the edge and live up to the hype coming out of high school. He played in 32 games for Texas A&M and notched 11 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 0 sacks.

Martin will have a full two years of eligibility to play for the Huskies and will be immediately available this fall.  He was originally ranked by 247Sports as a four-star recruit, the # 14 weakside defensive end, and the # 213 overall prospect in the nation.

He had offers from Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Arizona State, Colorado, USC, UCLA, Oregon State, Washington State, and Utah among others.

The Huskies have tapped into the transfer portal with the additions of quarterback Patrick O’Brien from Colorado State, wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk from Texas Tech and now Jeremiah Martin from Texas A&M.
