The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff received some exciting news tonight when one of the top wide receivers in the nation signed with the Huskies.
Four-star wide receiver Puka Nacua chose the Huskies tonight on KSL 5 TV News Station in Salt Lake City, Utah in front of his family.
Nacua hails from Orem High School in Orem, Utah and last season he led the entire country in receiving yards during his senior season.
He also holds Utah state records for single-season receiving yards (2,336) and receiving touchdowns (26), as well as career receiving yards (5,226), touchdown catches (58) and receptions (260).
Nacua was named the All-American Bowl national offensive player of the year, as well as Utah’s Gatorade football player of the year.
During ‘National Signing Day’ this past week, Nacua announced that he was delaying his signing to discuss his choices more in depth with his family.
Nacua is the #8 rated wide receiver prospect in the nation according to 247Sports.
Originally a hard commit to the USC Trojans for an extended time, Nacua chose Washington over USC, Utah, Oregon and UCLA, among many others.
At 6-feet-2, 190 pounds, the ultra athletic and electric Nacua recently garnered the Offensive MVP Award at the Polynesian Bowl.
In the same game, Washington recent signee and four-star LB Daniel Heimuli was named the Defensive MVP at the Polynesian Bowl.
With the addition of Nacua, The Washington Huskies now have 15 four-star players in their recent 2019 recruiting class.
