The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff received some good news earlier tonight when four-star safety prospect Asa Turner recommitted to the Huskies.
Per his Instagram account, Turner announced his final decision to sign his NLI (National Letter of Intent) with the Huskies a week before ‘National Signing Day’ on February 6th.

Turner is from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California and down the stretch it became a two-team race between Washington and Notre Dame.
Before the ‘Early Signing Period’ back in December of 2018, Turner was a hard commit to the Huskies before backing off of his pledge. He was torn between the two schools and wanted to take extra time to make his decision.
Turner is rated the #10 best athlete prospect in the nation and the #198th best overall prospect in the nation by 247Sports.
At 6-4, 195 pounds, Turner is one of the best athlete prospects out west with his tall and rangy frame while possessing excellent speed.
Washington was recruiting him at safety and Notre Dame was wanting him as a linebacker. Recently at the All-American Bowl, Turner struggled at linebacker and felt longterm that his best skill set is at the safety position, which he has played his entire football career.
For Washington head coach Chris Petersen and staff, this is a tremendous get heading into ‘National Signing Day’ as it will surely bolster their recruiting rankings.
The Huskies are still in the mix for some very elite players to close out the 2019 recruiting class and things could get more interesting next week.
