BREAKING: Four-Star Local Offensive Lineman Owen Prentice Commits To Washington

The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff’s effort to keep the top players from leaving the state of Washington continues to take shape.

Earlier this evening, four-star offensive lineman Owen Prentice announced his commitment to the University of Washington via a picture posted on Twitter.

Prentice is a local star from O’Dea High School in Seattle, Washington.  Husky offensive line coach Scott Huff has made tremendous strides in keeping the top offensive line talent from leaving the state.

At 6-foot-3, 296 pounds, Prentice is a talented prospect who has the ability to get into the open field when pulling.  He also has developed a reputation as a punishing run blocker, who has great footwork and uses his hands well.

Prentice is currently ranked as the No. 4 player in the state of Washington and the No. 8 guard nationally.  He is the No. 115 overall recruit in the 2021 class by 247Sports.

He had offers from LSU, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, USC, UCLA, Utah, Washington State and more.

Prentice is the #14 verbal commitment for the Washington Huskies for the 2021 recruiting class.  As the second offensive lineman commit for the Huskies during this recruiting cycle, the Huskies are most likely done at this position group.
