BREAKING: Four-Star Defensive Back Jacobe Covington Recommits To Washington

Newly appointed head coach Jimmy Lake has been doing nothing but recruiting since stepping into the head role for the Huskies.

Lake has been the architect of constructing the secondary while at Washington and another talented prospect has reentered “DBU”

Saguaro High School (Phoenix, Arizona) defensive back sensation Jacobe Covington recommitted to the Washington Huskies earlier today.

Back on October 15th, Covington decommitted from the Huskies and reopened his recruitment back up, while sorting things out.

The 6 feet 1 inch, 193-pound Covington is one of the top defensive back prospects in the entire country and a four-star recruit.

He is currently rated as the no. 182 overall player in the nation by 247Sports Composite and the 13th best cornerback.

Washington was able to resolidify a commitment from Covington, despite having offers and heavy interest from Oregon, LSU, USC, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Arizona State and Oklahoma.

Covington possesses all the skills and talent with his tall and rangy frame and also has great speed and physicality.  He can play both the safety and the cornerback position at his size.

In regards to Saguaro High School, former Husky defensive back Byron Murphy played there as well and now is in the NFL playing for the Arizona Cardinals.

With early signing period coming this Wednesday, December 18th, Covington is expected to sign his letter of intent this week.

The current 2020 recruiting class for the Washington Huskies is truly stellar with this latest elite addition of Covington.
