The Washington Huskies Football coaching staff received some exciting news on the recruiting front to start out the weekend.
Earlier this afternoon, three-star cornerback recruit Dyson McCutcheon announced his commitment to the University of Washington via his twitter account.
McCutcheon hails from Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California, which is located outside of the city of Los Angeles. He is the grandson of former five-time NFL Pro Bowler running back Lawrence McCutcheon, and his father Daylon McCutcheon played defensive back for the Cleveland Browns.
At 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, McCutcheon is a two-way athlete who possesses incredible athleticism and speed, which could help him contribute as a punt returner as well.
McCutcheon is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, and the No. 27 ranked cornerback prospect in the nation. Husky coaches see him fitting the mold of a lockdown nickel corner at Washington.
He had offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Cal, Washington State, Arizona, BYU and others.
McCutcheon is the #8 verbal commitment for the Washington Huskies for the 2021 recruiting class, which marks the third commitment from the state of California for the Huskies.
